February 22nd - 26th

We have some fun new activities starting soon!
*Starting this week we will join the kindergarten and first grade weekly to learn about different kinds or art and artists. This week we will be learning about Jackson Pollock.
(His art is an incredible way to tie in art and color science in our class room!)
When I was in grade school, once a year we had an art professor teach us about influential artistes threw out history. A whole week of just art!! I still remember each artist and the wonderful masterpices they created! I hope this will be a small stepping stone for your child to want to learn more and more as they grow.

  •  Phonics/Phonograms - Th, sh, ch, ee, oo & ow. Each day we try and find a new word for each phonogram. We are also working a lot with beginning word sounds. Matching upper and lower case.
  •  Numbers- Teen number review,  1-30
  •  Shape-  hearts
  •  Writing skills- letter practice and number writing
  •  Math- hands on counting (10 beads in a number 10 cup)
  • Science- water color science, here is a link for you to use at home. http://www.teachpreschool.org/2013/09/make-and-explore-watercolor-science/
  • Theme- Love and caring
  • Bible- "He gave them bread from heaven to eat" John 6:31.

  • God shows us his love every day,. We can see His love in the rain, snow and sunshine. Look for Gods love all around you this week! I know that I see the love he has for us in the small tulip starts pushing their way threw the dirt. I see Gods love in the snow that covers our mountains, it's easy to see if you just stop and look.
  • Just some reminders...

  • Miss Roxane sent home @home reading trackers, each class is keeping 'score' of which class reads the most at home. This is so much fun for the kids!  Please look for your paper fill it out each night, and bring it back for our class to earn our points.
  • We will be celebrating Dr. Suse birthday the first Friday in March. More details to come soon. (Is it really almost March!?!)
  • ❄️please be sure to bring appropriate clothing for the daily weather changes💧💨 We will NOT go out if we have either a RED air day OR if it way to cold
  • Show and Tell is Friday  we are talking about color during science this week, so please look for something that is your child's favorite color to bring on Friday.
  • Please send your child with a water bottle labeled with their name. Having one in the class room makes for fewer trips to the drinking fountain and fewer stops to our learning.(water only please).
  • Reading:Remember to read to your child every day!!
