Christmas break!!

Merry Christmas!!!!
❄️
'Luke 2:5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child.
6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born,'

Last week was so much fun!!
We had art and music and so much joy in our class!!! We were also able to enjoy an trip on the 'Polar Express' right in our very own chapel!! Each little one colored their own train car to sit in. We had cookies, Hot cocoa and watched the movie with everyone in the school!!! It was so much fun!!

We will NOT be having pre-kinder classes until the first of the new year! The child care will be open, just be sure to check with the office for modified Holliday hours. Miss Mellyn will be in the class to care for all our kids who still need to be here over the next two weeks.

A way to keep little minds working!
A fun game I have started with our class is naming the beginning word sounds... It's good for in the car, around the house or out shopping. It can be such a fun way to keep their minds sharp even over the holiday.

I wish all of you safe travels, joy, love and contentment this Christmas!

'Luke2:7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.'

Week of Thanksgiving

The week of Thanksgiving is upon us!!

🍁 I have spent a lot of time thinking of what I am thankful for, my daughter, food in the fridge and a roof over my head.

Beyond that I am so thankful for my kids...every child in my class is a gift from God! I am thankful that I get to teach them all, I get to watch their eyes light up with excitement when they learn something new, I get to see them grow in body and in sprit. Our Bible time is such and important part of our day. Each day I get to tell them how much God loves them, I get to teach them how to be a light for God....I hope and pray that you see that same growth in your child.

What we are learning this week

Because of the holiday week we will be doing some abc,123 work but not as in depth as an average week.

Letter -Yy, Yancy Yack

Numbers - counting our blessings!

Shape- dome and crescent

Bible - 'We give thanks to you, oh God'
Psalm 75:1

Bible story - Mosses being found in the reeds of the Nile by the Pharaohs daughter.
The ultament reason to be thankful, for he saved the Israelites from Pharaohs grasp of the chosen people.

Important weekly information

• Pre-Kinder class will be on Monday only BUT Miss Mellyn will have plenary of fun and educational crafts for the remainder of the week

• Our child care will be closed Thursday for Thanksgiving. Please check with the front  desk for a possible adjustment  of our open hours on Wednesday and Friday

• In class we have been talking about personal space. All of our kids are so loving and caring, they enjoy giveing each other hugs. We are teaching them that it is polite to ask if their friend wants a hug first. I have never been of the mind of forcing a child to hug if they don't want to, even with family.

• It's getting COLD!! Each child will go out everyday, so PLEASE send appropriate out door clothing.

• Even in the cooler weather drinking appropriate amounts of water is so important. Please feel free to continue to send water bottles for your child. ( water only, please put name on bottle)

I Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and are all ready for Thanksgiving!!!!

Thank you for sharing your child with us!! They truly make Miss Mellyn and I feel SO blessed!

God Bless,
Ms Sara

  •  Bible Verse"I am wonderfully made" Psalm 139:14 (I hope that this story and this Bible verse will teach your child that they are wonderful, beautiful and perfect in Gods eyes!)
Over the weekend someone presented me with a Bible verse that helps guide me in my work... It reminds me of why I love teaching about God.

'Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.'
Proverbs 22:61

No matter where life's journey takes me I will always remember what I was taught about God as a child.

 Just some reminders...

  • Show and Tell is Friday Please have your child bring something that starts with E or F this is a fun way to reinforce the letter sound at home. (PLEASE no violent toys or 'weapons')
  • While the weather is still nice and hot/warm please feel free to send your child with a water bottle labeled with their name (water only please).
  • Our class is in search of small stuffed animals (beanie baby size) that will match our Zoo Phonics animals. If you are interested in helping us look please let myself or Miss Mellyn know.
  • Remember to read to your child every day!! It truly does so much for them!!! Here is a new link about reading to  children. https://www.earlymoments.com/promoting-literacy-and-a-love-of-reading/why-reading-to-children-is-important/
Have a great week 😊
