I hope that everyone had a wonderful and safe, long weekend!
I first started working with kids at a private Christian School and I was so lucky 7 years ago to start working at Wasatch Christian School. I get to teach kids about how our Lord loves us, no matter what or who we are. I whole heartedly believe that there is no job as awesome as mine. Seeing little eyes light up with understanding and hearing them retell me a story from the Bible that I have been teaching them is just incredible.
Just some reminders...
Even though this is a short week, we will still be studying two letters, along with some spatial reasoning math work.
- Letter sounds- Aa (Ā, Å, AH) - Allie Alligator, Bb (b) Bubba Bear, Cc (k,s) Catina Cat, Dd (d) DeeDee Deer
- Numbers- 1-15
- Shape- rectangle
- Writing skills- Holding a pencil the correct way, Name writing (the kindergarten way-capital first and lowercase letters for the rest of the name)
- Math- simple beginning patterns, spatial reasoning craft.
- Bible lesson- Genesis 1:1-31. Genesis 1:1 (here is a link so that you can talk and read the story at home with your child if you wish)
- Bible Verse- "I am wonderfully made" Psalm 139:14 (I hope that this story and this Bible verse will teach your child that they are wonderful, beautiful and perfect in Gods eyes!)
Just some reminders...
- Show and Tell is Friday Please have your child bring something that starts with C or D, this is a fun way to reinforce the letter sound at home. (PLEASE no violent toys or 'weapons')
- Ms. Mandy has asked that children who stay for lunch bring a plate, cup, and bowl for them to use. She is helping each child learn respect and responsibility for every day objects.
- While the weather is still nice and hot/warm please feel free to send your child with a water bottle labeled with their name (water only please). Bottles can be left in the classroom over the week and be taken home Friday to be washed. I will have a basket on top of the cubbies where they can be kept.
- Our class is in search of small stuffed animals (beanie baby size) that will match our Zoo Phonics animals. If you are interested in helping us look please let myself or Miss Mellyn know.
- I (Ms Sara) will not be at school on Friday. Miss Mellin will be in the class that day as lead teacher. Please feel free to let me know if there is anything you need that she cannot help you with.
