March 21st - 25th


Our weekly artist...
Claude Monet
Monet is by far one of my favorite artists! We will learn about his use of light and color and do our best to make our own water lily picture... 

  • Phonics/Phonograms - Th, sh, ch, ee, oo & ow. Vowels and vowel sounds, beginning and ending word sounds
  •  Numbers- Counting to 50
  •  Shape-  Egg shape!!
  •  Writing skills- writing on our paper lines.Capitol and lowercase.
  •  Math- hands on counting and sorting. 
  • Science- exploring colors with baking soda and vinegar 
  • Themebutterflies and their life cycle, EASTER and SPRING🌷
  • Bible- "It is true the Lord has risen" Luke 24:34.                                 The Lord has risen!! Everyday with the kids I say 'The Lord has risen!!' Slowly they are learning to say in return 'He has risen indeed hallelujah!!!!' Teaching about Easter brings me so much joy! I love talking about forgiveness and unconditional love!!

  • Just a reminder...

  • Please send your child with a water bottle labeled with their name. Having one in the class room makes for fewer trips to the drinking fountain and fewer stops to our learning.(water only please). 
  • We will have an Easter party the Friday the 25th. We would LOVE to color eggs. Please let me know if you are willing to bring in a dozen boiled eggs or supply's for coloring them(vinegar, food coloring or even cups to color in) Thanks in advance!!
  • please be sure to bring appropriate clothing for the daily weather changesπŸ’§πŸ’¨ 
  • Show and Tell is Friday  we are talking spring bring something in that you can find around your house that is a reminder of spring. A flower, a decoration, a picture...
  • Remember to read to your child every day!!

  •  Numbers- Teen number review,  1-30
  •  Shape-  cube
  •  Writing skills- writing on our paper lines. No floating letters and using Capitol and lowercase letters. 
  •  Math- hands on counting, 
  • Sciencewater cycle 
  • Theme- butterflies and their life cycle
  • Bible- "It is true the Lord has risen" Luke 24:34.                                 What a wonderful gift forgiveness is!! 

  • Just some reminders...

  • The first day of spring is April 20th. We are hoping to be able plant some strawberries or flowers to celebrate the begging of spring. 
  • I would like to have an Easter party the Friday before Easter. We would LOVE to color eggs. Please let me know if you are willing to bring in a dozen boiled eggs or supply's for coloring them(vinegar, food coloring or even cups to color in) Thanks in advance!!

March 7th - 11th

She is an amazing artist that was paralyzed when she was younger and instead of giving up she painted. 
So after learning about her we tried painting the same way! 
This, I must say was a lot of fun to watch!!

  • Phonics/Phonograms - Th, sh, ch, ee, oo & ow. Vowels and vowel sounds, beginning and ending word sounds
  •  Numbers- Teen number review,  1-30
  •  Shape-  cylinder
  •  Writing skills- writing on our paper lines. No floating letters and using Capitol and lowercase letters. 
  •  Math- hands on counting (10 beads in a number 10 cup)
  • Science- water cycle 
  • Theme- Weather, how fast spring weather changes! 
  • Bible- "It is true the Lord has risen" Luke 24:34.                                  As we get closer and closer to Easter it is important to talk about not only Jesus raising from the dead but the reason he died for us. We have been talking about how God sent Jesus to save us, how he taught us to forgive and to love others. We also have talked a lot about what a wonderful gift forgiveness is!!

February 29th - March 4th

So after learning about her we will be trying to paint the same way!


Here are some pictures that we took during our art class last Friday 

  •  Phonics/Phonograms - Th, sh, ch, ee, oo & ow. Each day we try and find a new word for each phonogram. Rhyming 
  •  Numbers- Teen number review,  1-30
  •  Shape-  octagon
  •  Writing skills- letter practice and number writing
  •  Math- hands on counting (10 beads in a number 10 cup)
  • Science- float and sink
  • Theme- Dr.Seuss, cat in the hat
  • Bible- "He gave them bread from heaven to eat" John 6:31.

  • We will be celebrating Dr. Suse birthday the first Friday in March. More details to come soon. (Is it really almost March!?!)
